The national minimum standards for care require that managers in care
homes will need to have a qualification relevant to the care provided
and a qualification in the management of services at NVQ Level 4.
The award is not a care qualification, although it does have some units
taken from Care NVQ at Level 4, enabling people who need to achieve
both a care and management qualification to reduce the assessment burden.
This qualification focuses on the task of managing a care service and is the
correct choice for managers of care homes. This includes services for older
people, people with learning disabilities and people with mental health problems.
Candidates must complete 10 units, 4 mandatory and 6 optional units
Mandatory units

402 - Manage a service , which meets the best possible outcomes for the individual (unit RM1)
403 - Manage the use of financial resourses (unit B3)
404 - Manage the performance of teams and individuals (unit C13)
