This Level 4 qualification is designed to be applicable to a wide range of supervisory or management roles with in the health and social care sector. It covers a wide range of managerial duties in delivering care and support, the assessment of individuals needs and the planning of packages of care. It brings together the mix of advanced practitioner work with first line management responsibilities. At this level you will most likely have management or supervisory responsibility for other staff or have a high level of autonomy in developing individual service responces to assess client needs. You will be assessed in eight areas, four of which are mandatory.
The course contains four mandatory units and four optional units.
Mandatory units
- HSC 41 Use and develop methods and systems to communicate record and report.
- HSC 42 Contribute to the development and maintenance of health and safe practice in the working environment.
- HSC 43 Take responsibility for the continuing proffessional development of self and others.
- HSC 45 Develop practices which promote choice, well being and protection of all individuals.
There are a range of optional units available. The combination for an individual varies depending upon their work role and work setting.
On completion of this programme you may be able to progress on to NVQ Health
and Social Registered Managers Award Level 4, if your work role is suitable.
