The charity operates five accessible UK Centres – based in:
Each Centre runs an extensive programme of short breaks for disabled people in a holiday setting. Vitalise provides 24-hour personal support and care-on-call from staff and volunteers in a relaxed environment, as well as a pre-arranged programme of trips and activities and range of special themed weeks to choose from.
The essence of Vitalise is freedom and choice. The charity aims to contribute to the well being of disabled and visually impaired people, their carers and families, by giving them access to a wide range of services, both in the UK and overseas.
It believes that disabled people should have the same rights, freedoms, responsibilities and quality of life as those without disabilities.

“The Greatest Holiday I have ever been on” - Freedom of choice at Netley Waterside House,
When Donna books a break at Netley Waterside House, she knows that she will be soon be surrounded by familiar people, but most of all she looks forward to meeting up with Gillian - the volunteer who has built up such a close relationship with her that she now only volunteers when she knows Donna will be there.
Donna, who lives in Hampshire, is visually impaired and uses a wheelchair. She goes to Netley twice a year and books her next break as soon as she comes home from the last one. She is full of praise for the high level of care she receives, her large bedroom and en-suite bathroom, the excellent food and the way that everyone mixes together.
Donna says: “I love coming to Netley – it’s like my second home and my only chance to get a break all year. The atmosphere is one of care and happiness, and staff bend over backwards to make everything easy, and I always feel completely safe in their care. There is a huge choice of activities and outings you can go on. If I could, I’d go back every week – it is the greatest holiday I have ever been on!”
